Reviews

What's there to say about this movie. It's a family movie, meaning that in all reality it's actually a kids movie. It's not scary or violent unless perhaps you have children less than 5 watching. In which case you should let them sit in your lap and cover their eyes at some points.

It's important to mention however, that it's a Norwegian movie. Meaning more than just the fact that it is Norwegian made, the dialogue is actually all in Norwegian. So if your children cannot understand Norwegian natively, or are too young to read subtitles (as others have said) then you might want to give this movie a miss.

In fact, you're going to want to give this movie a miss no matter what. It's got a tiny budget, some very fifth-rate CGI and if anything it reminds the viewer of those god-awful Spy Kids movies that are for some reason still being churned out...

The movie hopes to sell on one thing and one thing only. The name of the movie. A word that actually attributes to a series of great battles that determine the fate of the world, comprising of natural disasters, the death of gods and the subsequent submersion of the world in water. Has actually been used to tell a boring story about a 'father hero's' accidental discovery of a huge serpent living in a lake in Norway.

What ensues is nothing more than a long and boring self-serving, self-gratifying ego boost to one of Norway's apparent 'best' actors (and that's not saying much).

It's neither a movie that entertains, nor educates. I am sure every person on this earth has better things to do with an hour and a half of their time.
