Nothing is as it seems as an ex-con and aspirant filmmaker set out to manufacture a horror film by scaring real people; however, when it goes too far and someone actually dies, the pair decide that killing for real on film is the way to make a truly terrifying movie.

Reviews

I opened an IMDb account especially to warn people from this waste of time.
All the rest of the reviews are by the cast and makers of the film. Actually calling it a film is doing the cinema wrong, it really is more like a student film. A bad, long, boring student film you just wished you haven't watched.
If you love the Horror Genre, I invite you to write an honest review as well (after trying to see the movie of course) just so other fans wouldn't have to go through the disappointment of finding out this movie's rating (7.4 at the time this review was written) is misleading.
I didn't manage to get through the first half an hour. Those who can, please contact your doctor. You have Alzheimer.

With the help of his club friends, Conner must make it his mission to destroy Adora if he wants to win back Devin.

Reviews

Lady Peacock is one of the funniest, sexiest, most real films I have ever seen. Besides every actor being incredibly and ridiculously handsome, It was the first time I have seen realistic problems of young gay adults portrayed on the screen. With out giving anything away, there is a particular scene with movie make up, which as a film nerd was incredibly real and consistent. Realism is defiantly the word for this film. Heart warming realism. It has been said that a film is only as good as it's Villain and when the villain is a gorgeous bitchy drag queen, you'll find yourself rooting for the bad guy in heels. Only watch this movie if you need your sides to split with laughter, a good cry, and or your life to change forever.

Storyline

On one evening in a decade of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, the innocence of youth and family unravels. Five parallel coming-of-age stories dramatize the stages of grief. A youthful mother in a custody battle over her children, finds tranquility with the bottle. The abuse of her ex-husband still haunts the children; a nineteen year old drug addict, and his younger brother, a bullied closet homosexual. There's the story of the dog; a teen who offers sexual favors to gain acceptance, the challenged classmate who would do anything for her love, and the redhead beauty, haunted by a secret, tragic past. These lives and others will change forever on this final evening before their hangout, The Toy Soldiers Roller Rink, closes its doors for the final time.

Reviews

Erik Peter Carlson has broken the boundaries with this film. It is one of the realist depictions of our countries' youth. I never once saw this as a shock film, I saw honesty and truth behind every scene. This is really what is happening in our backyards. Kids are not as young as they used to be, and are growing up in a world with more possibilities and distractions than ever before. This is the modern world, and these are the newest leaders.
While this is not what happens with all of our youth, it does paint a beautiful picture of just a handful. This is happening all over this country. In the wealthy, poor, and everything in- between, our children are experimenting without any form of education or realization of their actions.
This is better and more honest than any reality program out there and it may scare the daylights out of you. This is our world, we must change it. F**king brilliant. Want to see it again.

Having now watched this film twice I have to say that to me Set Fire To The Stars is a master class in classic film making, Hitchcock often referred to 'pure cinema' the art of story telling via the art of the composition of shots and the smooth editing used to translate the written word into a visual experience and this film truly achieves what Hitchcock discussed.
It takes me back to the classics of film, the films that originally drew my attention and focus into the importance of film as an art form and lead to my career aspirations of sharing the joy and experience I had felt into the minds of the young and impressionable generations of the future. I have been a lecturer in Film Studies for 15 years.
The relationship between Thomas and Brinnin is just so beautifully created it almost feels as though one is part of this close and personal journey they shared. The relationship that develops through the film almost brought me to tears on more than one occasion while watching the film (if not for being a true 'Yorkshire man' then I think I could have shed a tear or two) The pain and frustration that Brinnin feels towards Thomas can be truly felt by the viewer, in one moment their relationship is so perfectly created only for the next scene to totally destroy Brinnin's 'love' for Thomas – pride that almost immediately becomes embarrassment, joy that turns swiftly to sadness – can only be said to be breath taking.
The performances of both Celyn and Elijah are at the height of what one would expect from the classics of Hollywood in its Golden Age, I do have to say that Celyn outshines on more than one occasion - which are the moments that made me feel extremely emotional, a man on the edge who was so lost in excess that I felt extreme sorrow for the character and those around him.
The composition of the shots is without doubt awe inspiring; I did not find one shot that jolted me from this visual feast. I get great delight from films that are obviously so cinematic, sadly something that is missing from so many contemporary films and what distinguishes a film from a movie. The scenes that stood out the most to me are the lake scene, the café scene (which was perfectly composed), the chess game and the woodland – just perfect.

Reviews

I see there aren't many reviews for this movie yet. Therefore I should let you know that this is a funny but very crude comedy. Definitely not for the kids. You don't even need to be a prude to be offended by this; I think any normal person probably *should* be offended by the antics of Barry, a chubby party animal, and his socially inappropriate girlfriend Mia, played by Lucy Punch.
Tyler Labine handles the lead role with confidence, and whose career looks ready to blast off. Lucy Punch is also very effective as Barry's partner in crime.
The film loses a lot of steam in the second half. But there's a steady drumbeat of funny situations to keep you entertained, sort of like watching The Simpsons. Have fun.

-The Culling (2015) movie review -The Culling is yet another indie-horror flick that follows a group of students who get trapped at a creepy house and creepy stuff happens. As usual.
-In a word? Generic.
-The story is generic, cliché, and nothing was new or even presented in an original fashion.
-The film took forever to take off and never got that good.
-The acting is nothing special.
-The characters literally are just the horror clichés minus a black guy who dies first.
-The music was generic creepy music.
-The effects were B-grade effects and there was nothing in the effects, film quality, or anything else what was impressive. The Culling is a generic movie with a generic plot, generic characters, and generic genericness. It offers nothing new to the genera in any way, and nothing works because of it. The Culling is not worth seeing. ever.

Reviews

In the introduction, a hillbilly woman is (somewhat disturbingly) beaten and killed by who appears to be her violent ex-boyfriend, before said goon is killed by the lady's son. I'm still in the process of sorting out how this fits into the whole storyline, but maybe that's pointless, as proved later.

A few decades later, that same son has grown into a bearded and broody hunk. He's part of a group of disparate individuals heading to the desert for some sort of spiritual enlightenment trek. There's a preacher and his dull girlfriend, the goofy best friend, the sports fanatic, 2 bimbos, 2 worthless goths, a fat foul-mouthed lady, etc.. Halfway through, their bus breaks down and they hike to a ghost town. The same ghost town that, earlier on, a salesman "bought" the rights to the Death Factory Museum from an unsuspecting local. The poor chap must have been the only left resident in town. After some accidental sexual witchcraft, the 2 goths awaken the spirits of legendary serial killers like Ed Gein, Jack the Ripper, and a a healthy handful of others (including a bare-chested lethal vixen I couldn't recognize, but maybe she was only there for gender equality). The broody and hunky son makes it a mission to save his reluctant posse by absorbing the spirit of said killers, then there's some capoeira, and the Devil, and it just stops making sense.

If you agree to not try and make sense of the very messy storyline, you will probably be pleasantly entertained by the varied shenanigans. All the killers have great presence (except maybe for the aforementioned vixen, probably because she has no back-story in our collective pop consciousness). They are strongly portrayed, have threatening presence, and are prominently featured. There's lots of actions and gruesome killings, some refreshing nudity, the plot twists keep on popping until the very end, there's nothing to be bored with. Just leave your expectations at the door and enjoy the heartfelt ride.

Reviews

Keep in mind this film has nothing whatsoever to do with Oliver Stone. Instead we have a twenty something man with little or no ambition who happens to enjoy smoking the cheeba.
He has to do the odd job for his father's car detailing business in which he successfully screws up constantly. He seems to even have issues with handing out fliers! The crux of the story has him picking up a 55 Mercury from a customer to go detail it but somehow gets it stolen while partaking in some ice cream and some puffs. He then spends the duration of the film looking for the car while getting high and falling in love.
This is a "PG"ish comedy with no nudity but does contain the odd f bomb and rampant use of marijuana(the whole city seems to get high).
Teenagers will enjoy the humour but probably no one else will. It is a light no brainer comedy which actually does emit a few morals. After watching the film you will probably want to get high if you already aren't.

Following Miyazaki's retirement, the pressure was heavy on Director Yonebayashi as the next successor of Ghibli Studio. But in the Japanese multimedia, it was stated by the Former Director Miyazaki and Producer Suzuki that the future successor was finally decided after watching Yonebayashi's first solo directed movie "When Marnie Was There (2014)". Was this really the case? My answer - Yes.
This movie is unique in a sense that the story revolves around two female protagonists "Anna" and "Marnie"; although it does remind us a hint of the nostalgic movie "My Neighbour Totoro" which starred "Satsuki" and "May", their relationship is far more complex. As the story progresses, their relationship becomes more clear and vivid to the audience, and the confusion of the intertwining reality and the dreamlike world starts to unfold. The two girls go on a journey as they discover each others past and dwells upon their current problems, and gradually develops an unbreakable bond that unites them stronger.
Although the trailer did cause some confusing misunderstandings between the two girls in Japan, and at the same time my expectations lowered; after watching the movie it was no doubt a splendid and flawless piece of art both literally and figuratively.
It is worth noting that Yonebayashi truly challenged the impossible, as even Miyazaki had once thought of making this novel into a movie but had backed down due to its continuous complex changes that occur in the world of the two girls. Furthermore, Yonebayashi has created his "own" depiction of the sky in this movie, and is no longer the "blue sky" and "white clouds" that Miyazaki has portrayed in his series of work. So we can expect to see his own unique world of Ghibli gradually bloom in the next upcoming years.
To summarize the experience, it was astonishing how we, the audience ourselves can go on a journey together with the protagonists to overcome their obstacles. Paying attention to the changes in Anna's facial expressions is extremely crucial if you want to enjoy this movie. The succinct yet complex portrayal of these two girls really make you think of the depths of friendship. To conclude, I would like to end with Suzuki's logo that he had written for the advertising poster. The message of the logo is so sincere that to me there is no better way of epitomizing the message that the author and the director was trying to convey to the audience - 「あなたのことが大好き」- "I love you"; an unconditional love.

Sewashi claims that his family is suffering from the debts Nobita made even to his generation, so in order to change this disastrous future, he brought along Doraemon as Nobita's caretaker to bring happiness to his future, although Doraemon is not happy about this. And so Sewashi installed an accomplishment program into Doraemon forcing him to take care of Nobita. Unless he makes Nobita happy, Doraemon can no longer go back to the 22nd century. This is how the life of Doraemon and Nobita begins. Will Doraemon succeed this mission and return to the 22nd century?

Reviews

Growing up watching tons of Doraemon, I feel obliged to see this like a ritual.
While the technical aspects excels incredibly, I feel the script is too sensational. Never in my life have we cried for a Doraemon episode, but this predictable story makes everyone sob.
On the whole, I cannot say I do not like it. But I cannot say I like it either. It seems it is made with a lot of sincerity and uplifting for kids who are a little insecure about themselves. But I think it is unnecessarily tear-jerking, as in the director's previous work The Eternal Zero. Just a little overly sensational. I cried a few times and I think it is the style of the director who likes to make you cry. But I think he could have achieved the same result without jerking audience's tears.
But I love the surreal and realistic graphics! The street scene and small room of Japanese house make me miss Japanese life so much. The use of light, the character's hair, the clouds, even the neighborhood scene, etc, give a very warm feeling. The ride in the future is fantastic. And Doraemon's gadgets are forever magical! There is also a strong moral that we have to do things by ourselves and never give up. Perhaps it is a Japanese virtue to sacrifice oneself for others. On that point maybe the story could have added more details.

HOWEVER the people moaning about the fact that it is not a 1:1 replica of the anime should take a trip back down memory lane (on Youtube for example) and realize that those were too lengthy, verbose and that most of the fights were left to the reader as an exercise.
At least here, the characters are likable, do not have a never ending death wish or bleed out at each opportunity. Plus the fights, although WAY TOO SHORT (I really wish for a director's cut for once even if the movie should be twice as long), are more dynamic and realistic (well, for a super hero movie that is) than they were back then. I could totally imagine a Hollywood movie (you know with real actors) - which I never could with the Anime - coming out of this. And for once, not a crappy one. Disney/Marvel... Pretty please? Or a TV show to develop what's missing - but unless they get loads of cash - Kickstarter anyone? - I don't know if they'll be able to keep up with the quality - because it is really very good - of this one.
It kinds of feel like the upcoming Big Hero 6 (judging from the trailers - Not out yet in France) in a way.

Where did this movie come from? I hadn't heard of it until I caught it on cable.
With it's cheap looking lighting and awful pop songs, it's obviously an independent with a tiny budget. I was initially turned off, but once it gets rolling, with it's great animation/performance and an amazingly strange steam-punk world, I was sucked in.
It reminds me of fantasy the films of Jim Henson (like Dark Crystal), Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland) or Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away).
It's a movie with a lot of heart, a lot of life, and one I can watch over and over.
I'm looking forward to seeing what this studio and filmmaker do next.

After a long and eventful journey to the hornets hive Maya and Willy soon discover the true culprit and the two friends finally bond with the other residents of the opulent meadow.

Reviews

A remarkably well paced beautifully animated whimsical feature with superb story progression and impeccable comedy timing, perfect for youngsters and adults alike.
I've caught snippets of the Maya TV show when my children were watching and thought it was rather sweet, but never paid much attention. Then along comes the movie. My perception of TV shows turned into feature length film's are less than stellar, often feeling like a padded out and an overly long TV episode. Maya the Bee movie firmly avoids this pitfall and feels like a stand alone tale anyone can enjoy. I frequently found myself mesmerized as though I was watching a top of their game Disney production, and I'm a 37 year old action movie loving dad!
Story: I won't dwell on it here, the IMDb covers it amply. Other than to say, though many of the topics have been covered before, it is refreshingly arranged and never feels rehashed or tiresome. There are also plenty of novel ideas making Maya a somewhat original tale.
Humour: The comedy in Maya is very slapstick and hilarious. I heard many younger and older kids in the theatre laughing over and over again (like myself) at many of the characters antics.
Violence: As another reviewer has stated there is absolutely no violence but there is threatened violence and a few mildly spooky scenes. But nothing feels out of place and any scariness is quickly exposed for what it is, misperception. The threatened violence equates to nothing more than a raised stern voice and dissatisfaction with another bug over a conflicting view or their prejudices.
Characterisation: The strong willed beautiful natured Maya. Her latently brave best friend Wily. Flip the Singing, wise, stand up comedian, Jiminy cricket channeling grass hopper. The portly fair Queen Bee. The dastardly treacherous Buzzlina Von Beena. And a slew of support cast some with prominent reoccurring roles.
Do yourself a favour, round up the kids and see this in the theatre. In a world full of violence it's great to see a movie being made which is able to tell a riveting tale of adventure, exploration, friendship, empathy, bullying, righteousness, misguided prejudice and tolerance. And still manages be absolutely riveting. It's utterly refreshing.

Reviews

The movie is a low budget adaptation of the book. It is a very warm and gentle, even old fashioned kind of film. Very safe and you don't have to worry about your kids watching it over and over as it has a very positive message.
Just like in the book, the kids are polite and supportive of each other. They discover that hard work leads to independence and that the most important thing is life is your family.
There are one or two mildly scary moments but for the most part this is a movie even little kids can watch with any worries.
I wish there were more movies like this being made for kids these days.
Also I would recommend reading the book to your kids cause it makes watching the movie even more fun.

A good movie. I purchased this from Amazon.com and was first in the e-queue but also was a little puzzled, as when I showed the movie off most people had already seen it. Apparently there are a whole load of websites where you can watch this movie for free on-line.
However the kids really did enjoy it and as soon as the movie finished they pressed play and watched it again, which they have not done since Tinkerbell a good sign of money well spent. The scenes were bright and colourful, the story engaging, a little more thrills and fun. The dopey mermaid was funny and the grandmother was kinda cool as well.
For a movie advertised as a musical, regretfully, the songs were weak. The kids hummed away on the old Barbie tunes, but not so here.
Although she does play the part of the reluctant hero, which is good, no explanation is given why she is so reluctant. What happened to the brave and inspiring Barbie of old who fought against all kinds of monsters, wizards, witches etc. "Fighting an evil princess, I don't think I can do that." She plays a cowardly role and wanders around far too much. Barbie was uninspiring.
There was such little characterisation built up, the entire cast seemed one dimensional and we could not make ourselves care about any of them. No matter how much trouble they got into we were so distant from the movie we could not have cared less. This was the movies biggest flaw zero empathy.
When the characters had their magic drained they should have fallen deathly ill, grey skin, feverish, then there could have been a sense of urgency to the plot, that these friends had to push their fears aside, band together and rescue their fellows, quickly, but there was no clock ticking away in the background to add anything so was the usual slow paced offering.
We watched Malucia steal powers, attack people, and we were all very disappointed when she was given such a trivial punishment at the end, there was a real sense of injustice.
Would be keen to see a love story next, something like beauty and the beast(-ish) maybe.

As a parent who has had to sit through a lot of children's programming over the years, I really liked this little movie. The premise is cute, and there's a few jokes aimed at the parents in there. It's not so teeth-rottingly sweet as to be nauseating to Mom and Dad, the music is catchy, and the children's drawings come to life is an interesting concept that's not overdone. I've found myself asking my two year old if he'd like to watch the crayon movie again! The voice actor's list has some of my favorites on it including Sean Astin (from Goonies and The Lord Of The Rings) who I would never have pegged, although I knew it was familiar and I actually came to IMDb to see who the voice actor is. It also stars Owen Wilson and Christina Ricci, Craig Ferguson and Wayne Brady. Put the movie on for your kiddos- mine love it!

This movie is horrible! It's not as bad a the first movie but it's so close. The heroes are obnoxious to watch, the villains are horrible, the plot is too predictable, the songs are just pop garbage, there are so many plot holes and the worst problem is the pacing of this movie!
I admit that these are all issues I had in the first movie but the only reason this movie improved is because of Sunset Shimmer. She was an enjoyable character to watch because I wanted to see her succeed and get better. Frankly she would make a better character than Twilight Sparkle any day.
Sunset Shimmer is the only reason to I give this movie 1 of 10. Aside from that though there is no reason what so ever to go see this movie. It will waste your time and make the audience leave in disappointment. (No joke. The audience of bronies I had despised this movie)
This is just like with the first movie in that it's only purpose is left over table scraps from the show. The show is amazing and creative and in order to keep the fans patient for the next season they send us this mess! If that's true than I would feel insulted about this series!

I'll admit, for the first half-hour, I really didn't see what was so bad about this film. The first little while felt like an episode of the series and even the talent show story line at least made sense as Pat was doing it for his wife and not for himself, and Pat's always been selfless so that was great. I was already a little sceptical when they revealed the whole Robot Pat thing, but when it escalated into a bigger plot, this was where the movie almost lost me. I was able to accept the existence of cellphones and a PS Vita, of all things, in the world of Postman Pat, but the evil robot thing really shouldn't be connected to this.
And before you say anything, yes, I know movies connected to cartoon shows usually try to differentiate themselves from their source material. And honestly, I think the talent show plot was good enough. You could have had the fame and attention get to Pat's head only for him to learn a lesson in the end and that would have been fine. As if that's not enough, we also get a terminator reference and, yeah, is this really Postman Pat?
However, in spite of all of this, I found this strangely enjoyable, but more as its own stand-alone sort of thing. Like Tom and Jerry the movie, I don't really like this as something connected to its respective series but rather its own entity. Every time the movie did something to make me groan, like when the villain revealed his evil plan before it was too late for Pat to stop him and, probably the most painful of all, Jess not being able to tell the difference between his beloved owner and a robot, it managed to pull me back with either a decent joke or something equally entertaining.
All-in-all, I can see why a lot of Pat fans don't like this movie. After the first half-hour, it starts to lose a lot of its charm in favour for something I'd accept in any other animated film, but I still found it strangely entertaining. I can't recommend it, really, but it's a guilty pleasure for me.

"Heavenly Sword" seemed more like something that should have remained in a PlayStation game and not made it to the big screen. Especially because it looked like something from the early 2000's. The animation and textures were not up to par for 2014, not by a long shot. And it totally pales in comparison to the 2001 "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" and the 2005 "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children".
The storyline was adequate and had some good moments, but it seemed like everything was just skipped over lightly and without going into depth with anything much really.
A lot of the animation was rigid and wooden, and the outdated textures didn't really help further the movie in any possible way. I must say that I think they could have used more resources and time on the animation here.
The characters were adequate, albeit two-dimensional and lacking personalities.
Having sat through the entire length of this animated movie, and with being very close to getting up and doing something else twice along the way, but deciding to stick with it to the end, I must admit that I had hoped for something more than it turned out to be.
I have never tried the game upon which this movie is based, but truth be told, then it felt like this entire movie should have been used as in-game cut scenes and not as a feature animated movie.
One thing I did think about though, was if this animated movie wouldn't actually have been far, far better if they had opted to continue with the cartoonish animation style that they used in the movie to tell some of the backstory. That was actually more interesting to look at and far more stylish and memorable than the outdated CGI that was this movie.

OK guys so here i am going to be honest with you. First of all YES i hated the Last Movie. My friend from japan gave me the recorded one and he himself hated the movie. So first the movie is totally focus on two thins and they are, Scarf and Hinata? Who is Hinata by the way? I don't remember her being the main heroin or what so ever. The movie is a total failure. Also many Japanese people are disliking the movie. And my friend also told me that the only reason they sold out is that they didn't let people know the movie is solely based on Hinata and when people cancel their reservations they didn't gave them Refunds. That's very LOW of them. I mean this is a fraud! You people played a big game guys. My Friend was really frustrated over that.
No Back on the movie, so there is nothing to like about movie and Naruto is now Officially over for me because not only i hated Sasuke and Sakura's worse couple at the end of manga but now the anime is also changed from Shonen to Shoujo. By the why who even like Hinata? I mean i don't like Sakura and karin and Hinata was OK but the main thing about anime was never Romance but now they gave a movie completely based on Romance and with no link to original story even the characters don't even seems that they are from Naruto. Every thing got changed in the movie and now after fifteen long years we are told that Naruto never loved Sakura. That's a Big Laughing stock! Seriously i never saw a writer like Kishimoto who would ruin his own Story.
Not only the Manga ended with bad couples, the movie is also no less! My personal opinion is who ever is liking this movie is a Hinata Fan Only because its all about her. How lame!
Well whatever happens i did not despise Naruto with Hinata but they changed every thing for them and that's really sad. I was first just mad over Sasuke and Sakura's Couple because that's the most hated couple no matter what people say. They don't even make sense but now Naruto and Hinata is also not looking good.
